Richard III was King of England and Lord of Ireland from 1483 until his death in 1485 during the Wars of the Roses. He was the last King of the House of York and the last of the Plantagenet dynasty. His skeletal remains were discovered buried under a Leicester car park in 2012. This design features a portrait of the King with his badge and motto, being a white Boar with the words 'Loyaulte me lie', meaning Lotalty binds me, underneath plus a row of white roses signifying the House of York.
