The Rose Trellis Egg was created in 1907 as an Easter gift from Tsar Nicholas II of Russia to his wife, Alexandra Feodorovna. Pink hardstone Roses sit on a green enamelled background with a trellis of diamonds criss-crossing the surface of the egg. The inside of the egg contained a diamond necklace with an ivory miniature portrait of the Tsarevich, framed in diamonds, but which is now lost.
This cross stitch design features the pretty Pink Rose motifs and trellis-work pattern on top of the pale green background. Only whole cross stitch is required throughout.
This mini cushion counted cross stitch kit includes: 14ct white aida fabric, ready-sorted DMC Stranded Cotton Threads on a numbered and symboled card sorter, needle, backing fabric, b&w symbol chart and full instructions (cushion filler not included).
Design size: 5¾" (14.7cm) square.
