This mini cushion design has been inspired by a late Tudor painting, possibly of Helena Snakenborg, Marchioness of Northampton and Maid of Honour to Queen Elizabeth I. The glorious motifs and patterns of the costume featured in the painting have been re-styled in this design, which requires only full cross stitches, so no backstitch or fractional stitches are required. A leaflet is included with this kit, which gives some of the history behind Helena and this design.
This cross stitch kit includes: 14HPI white aida fabric, ready-sorted DMC Stranded Cotton Threads on a numbered & symboled card sorter, needle, backing fabric, b&w symbol chart and full instructions, plus a design history leaflet (cushion filler not included).
Design size: 5¾" (14.7cm) square.
