The Imperial Blue Serpent Clock Egg was created in 1895 for the Russian Czar, Nicholass II. A serpent set with diamonds coils around the base and up towards the centre of the egg, where its tongue indicates the hour of the day by pointing to a rotating band of Roman numerals. Panels around the base of the egg show motifs and symbols from Arts and science.
This mini cushion design was inspired by the Serpent Clock Egg and includes the base motifs in each corner, with clover pink roses on a background of blue along the edges. Only whole cross stitch is required, with some backstitching needed.
This mini cushion cross stitch kit includes: 14HPI white aida fabric, ready-sorted DMC Stranded Cotton Threads on a card sorter, needle, backing fabric, b&w symbol chart and instructions (cushion filler not included).
Design size: 5¾" (14.7cm) square.
