The Imperial Resurrection Egg was created around 1889 by Peter Carl Fabergé and was presented by Czar Alexander III to his wife, Marie Feodorovna. The egg is one of the few eggs with a religious subject from Fabergé and the egg itself is made of polished rock crystal, enclosing a scene of Christ rising from the tomb, flanked by angels. The egg rests on an intricately enameled and jewel-encrusted stand.
This mini cushion cross stitch design was inspired by the Resurrection egg, and features the religious scene surrounded by the intricate patterns that decorate the stand. Only whole cross stitches are required to stitch the design, along with a small amount of backstitch for the facial features.
This mini cushion cross stitch kit includes: 14HPI white aida fabric, ready-sorted DMC Stranded Cotton Threads on a card sorter, needle, backing fabric, B&W symbol chart and instructions (cushion filler not included).
Design size: 5¾" (14.7cm) square.
